Clarence Ray Hamilton

September 21, 1953 — November 30, 2020

Moore

Clarence Ray Hamilton (Scootie Ray) was the seventh of eleven children born to Willard and TeaRosa (Jackson) Hamilton on September 21, 1953. His father, mother, two sisters, Carolyn and Wilda Reeves, and two brothers, Roland and Willard Jr., preceded him in death.

Clarence departed this life on November 30, 2020 at 4:15 P.M at St. Ann's Skilled Nursing Home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after living his life his way. He united with the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Arcadia, Oklahoma as a child. When Arcadia High School closed its doors, he than graduated from Star Spencer High School in Spencer, Oklahoma in 1971.

Clarence met and married Brenda Martin on July 3, 1974 after an introduction from his brother, Roland, who was dating her sister, Sarah. To this union he gained a son, Michael, and five children were born. He worked for Safeway Grocery Corporation while in high school part-time and when he graduated, he went full-time and was successfully promoted to a managerial position.

Clarence worked for Safeway Grocery Corporation around 13 years in Edmond, Oklahoma. He was diagnosed at an early age with three brain aneurysms and dementia. Two of the aneurysms were embolized and on decided to stay permanently.

Although he was a self-taught mechanic, he studied automobile mechanics in high school and loved his 55" Chevy. He repaired his own cars, his sister and cousins. He loved to race that Chevy on Sunday afternoons at the mile marker drag in Arcadia, Oklahoma. That guy could shift a standard shift with ease like no one else. He loved music, dancing, and the Dallas Cowboys football team and was a fan for life. He also loved our family gatherings so he could clown around and most of all eating and talking about our childhood memories. Clarence was humble, quiet, kind, and had a charismatic charm about him that when you met him you would never forget him. His warm smile would brighten your day. Our father would say that he was just a duck "he would let his cares and worries just roll off his back like water".

He leaves to cherish his memory, his five children; Michael Martin, Kendall Hamilton (Shanell), Kristi Stoddard, Damarcus Hamilton, and Comesha Coutee; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one brother; Floyde Hamilton of Arcadia, Oklahoma, five sisters, Beverly Johnson (Gerald), Patricia Johnson (Ricky), Rose Jones, Cynthia Swain all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Maxine Hamilton of Alexandria, Virginia; one uncle, one aunt, and a host of nephews, nieces and other family members.
