Danniel R. Parker

Danniel R. Parker, 38, left this world for a new one on Jan. 26, 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and risk of painful, but necessary, separation from loved ones, there will not be a public service.

Danniel and his wife, Holly Jean (Cureton) Parker, were together nearly 14 years and married for more than two years. Although Danniel struggled with health issues since September, everyone knows the love between these soulmates remains eternal.

Danniel was an exceptionally beautiful child with soulful blue eyes, a wildly vivid imagination and a creative powerhouse in nearly everything he accomplished. Whether it was earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Central Oklahoma, winning an Oklahoma Society of Professional Journalists and other writing awards, or performing as a songwriter and vocalist in one of several bands, Danny’s storytelling abilities and intellect were exceptional. Danniel’s writing talent graced the pages and airwaves of various local media outlets, and he leaves behind several promising manuscripts for novels.

Danniel was the only child of his mother, Kevan Maureen Goff-Parker, and her ex-husband, RobLeigh Majors, and his caring and attentive adoptive father, John B. Parker, who adopted him at age 10. Through his loving wife he had a mother-in-law, Samantha Small; two brothers-in-law, Aaron Small and Justin Leibrock; three nephews, Triston, Aiden and Jax; two nieces, Trinity and Isabella; as well as other aunts, an uncle and cousins.

When Danniel became a Parker, he inherited a large and loving family, including grandparents Allan E. (who died in 2009) and Jean Parker; aunts and uncles Joan Johnson and Marc Brown, Dale and Linda Neikirk, Sunny and Steve Parker, Allan and Susan Parker, and many beloved cousins.

He is also survived by his maternal grandfather Thomas P. Walsh and his large and loving family, uncle Bruce Goff, and a host of cousins and great friends.

Danny was preceded in death by his beloved paternal grandparents who helped raise him, the Rev. Robert and Lawanda Majors. Also preceding him were Kevan's dad of 55 years, Ben A. Goff, who passed in 2019, and his uncle Benjamin Goff. His maternal grandmother, Virginia M. (Reynolds) Goff, also preceded him in death.
