Obituary

Delores (Calton) Bogan was born October 3, 1943 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at St. Anthony Hospital to Billy Lawrence and Ruby Lee (Mitchell) Calton. She was the second of seven children.

At an early age, she accepted Christ and joined Cook's Chapel (CME) Church proceeding to Shiloh Baptist Church then afterwards becoming a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Delores graduated from Douglass High School in 1962 as a proud Trojan. Delores married Billy Gene Gaddis and to this union, one son, Phillip, was born. She worked at Macklanburg-Duncan in Oklahoma City as an administrative assistant where she retired after 30 years. She also worked at The Prairie Gypsies as a caterer for over 20 years. Delores served her loved ones and community with her culinary gifts, feeding her family and friends throughout the neighborhood. She was a musician in the kitchen having a host of her own secret recipes. She also had a love of shopping and used her passion by blessing her community with gifts and family with coats. Delores took full advantage of her plentiful time by getting the best deals and bargains at every shopping center. She had a love for shopping and also buying for others. She was a recognized face to everyone never meeting a stranger. She kept her appearance up and fashionably made statements with her color coordination from head to toe. Dressed to impress on all occasions keeping her Nails elegant and hair flawless, Thanks to Collette Smith and previous stylist. She had high standards for herself, for family and friends and she made sure you knew that was the case.

Delores was preceded in death by her mother and father; four brothers; Billy Lawrence Calton Jr., Charles Edward, Bobby Ray, Terry Lee and one sister, Linda Calton. She leaves to cherish her memory, one son and daughter: Phillip Muhammad and Kim Gaddis of Rowlett, TX; one brother, Billy "Little Billy"; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
