Dena Kay Brady, resident of Konawa, OK, met her Creator and Savior on Saturday, August 7, 2021 surrounded by her family at Stroud Regional Medical Center in Stroud, OK. She was born December 31, 1972 in Lawton, OK to Frances Cully.

Dena was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roy and Lahoma George, stepfather, Joe Cully, and her uncle, Bobby George. She is survived by her mom, Frances Cully of the home; two sisters, Darlene Shaffer and husband, Donnie, Jean Ann Johnson and husband, Scott; three nieces, Amanda Lee, Lyndsay Elliott, and Leslie Johnson; three nephews, Jarrod Porter, Tyler Porter, and Tony Johnson; two great nephews, Isaiah Underwood and Deaton Elliott; one great niece, Hayven Lee; and one baby peanut on the way. Her love also extended to spouses of her nieces and nephews, several aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, other family, and friends.

Dena graduated from Konawa High School and attended Oklahoma University. She was a lover of life and service to others. She lived as a short-term missionary traveling to several states serving many Native American communities. She spent many years of her life discipling the youth and teaching Sunday School at Many Springs. Dena was a diligent and faithful employee of the Chickasaw Nation IT Department for 15 years. Her favorite pastimes included making cakes for all occasions, cooking, reading, pulling jokes on her family, traveling for unique food experiences, and hosting bible studies.

She was known for putting others before herself, smiling and laughing, always having something up her sleeve, and bringing her family together. Dena’s presence is missed immensely by her family, friends, and coworkers. She was a blessing to many, especially her mom and sisters.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Many Springs Baptist Church in Holdenville with Rev. Jimmy Anderson officiating.
