Doris Ann (Conway) Carter

Doris Ann (Conway) Carter, former Seminole and now McAlester resident, passed away Monday, November 22, 2021 at McAlester Regional Hospital at the age of 76.

Doris was born September 2, 1945 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Joe Conway and Mary Elizabeth Watson. She attended Booker T. Washington Grade School in Seminole and graduated from Seminole High School in 1965. Doris was a cook at Seminole Schools and later at Rainbow Terrace Care Center in Weleetka, OK. She loved to bake and watch OU Sooners and Dallas Cowboys football. She attended Mount Triumph Baptist Church in McAlester.

Survivors include one son, Steven Conway and wife Shelee; daughter, Sherrie Bryson of McAlester; three brothers, Charles Conway, Clarence Conway and Richard Conway; three sisters, Clarice Cagg, Alta Griffis and Freeda Conway; grandchildren, Rafael Conway, Jordan Conway, Brandon Conway and Paige Conway; great-grandchildren, Rafia Conway, Camilla Conway, Aurora Conway, Karma Conway and Braylon Conway; several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jerry Conway, Larry Conway, Johnny Conway, Lawrence Conway, Dale Conway and Alonzo Conway; step-sisters, Louise Black, Ethel Riley and Mattie Ledbetter and one step-brother, Nathanial Conway.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 12:00 – 7:00 PM at OK Cremation & Funeral Home, 2415 N. Walnut Ave, Oklahoma City.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 1:00 PM at OK Cremation & Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Anthony Washington officiating.
