Oklahoma City resident, Janette Marie (Luttrul) Mercer, known to all as Jan, died Friday, June 18, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. She was 75 years old.
Jan, the daughter of Lowell and Reba (Luttrul) Smith, was born October 27, 1945 in Olustee, OK. Jane was the oldest of three children. She had one brother, Michael Luttrul, and one sister, Sheila (Luttrul) Wylie. Jan married Thomas Clifford Mercer, Jr on February 22, 1964, and had three children, one daughter, Shelley Ranee (Mercer) Levescy, and two sons, Brent Allen Mercer and Douglas Clifford Mercer. Jan worked as a beautician for most of her adult life. She served the patients of Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation for many years as well as ran a successful beauty shop out of her home. Jan was also a talented artist. She enjoyed painting, making ceramics, and creating beautiful flower beds. Jan loved caring for her dog, Tootsie, as well as several cats.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and Reba Smith, and her former spouse, Thomas Clifford Mercer, Jr.
Jan is survived by her three children, Shelley Ranee (Mercer) Levescy of Oklahoma CIty, OK, Brent Allen and Mischelle Mercer of Owasso, OK, Douglas Clifford Mercer of Tuttle, OK; six grandchildren, Bradley and Tina Levescy of Tuttle, OK, Alex Levescy of Oklahoma City, OK, Preston Mercer of Mustang, OK, Zac Mercer of Rogers, AR, Madison Mercer of Owasso, OK, and Grady Mercer of Owasso, OK; two siblings, Micael Luttrul of Oklahoma City, OK and Sheila (Luttrul) Wylie of Chickasha, OK; four great grandchildren, Ian, Zoe, Isabella, and Braden of Tuttle, OK; two nephews, Josh Griffin and Brandon Wylie; one niece, Kala Wylie, and many friends.
