John W. Brown, Jr. was born October 21, 1947, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to the union of the late John W. Brown, Sr. and the late Velta Ruth Lee (Kinchion).
He matriculated through Oklahoma City’s public school system and was a graduate of Douglass High School, where he was on the football team. He went on to serve in the United States Army – fought for his country during the Vietnam War and was honored with a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He was later employed as a Water Treatment Specialist at Tinker Air Force Base, until he retired around 2010.
Affectionately known to his family and friends as “Jr. Brown” or “Junior Boy”, John enjoyed reading and wearing fashionable clothing, sneakers, and jewelry.
John W. Brown, Jr. departed this life on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at St. Anthony Hospital, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, after several years of bravely enduring multiple illnesses. He leaves to cherish his memories: a brother – Robert E. Lee, Jr. (Karen), an uncle – Bennie Kinchion, as well as a host of other relatives, and friends.
