Lawrence Eugene Jackson, Jr.

October 29, 1955 — February 9, 2019

Lawrence Eugene Jackson, Jr. was the 1st child born to Lawrence Eugene Jackson, Sr. and Ruth Helen (Nero) Jackson on October 29, 1955 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is the great-great-grandson of Henderson Williams.

Best known as “Larry” to those around him, he attended Garden Oaks Elementary School and in Oklahoma City. He received his grade school education at Harding Middle School and graduated from John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City.

Larry married Barbara Jean (White) and from this union no children were born. Larry dedicated his career to Western Electric/AT&T/Lucent Technologies/Celestica for 25 years of service. He was a Senior Production Technician and retired in November 2002.

Larry enjoyed fishing, bowling (like a champion) and delicious barbeque. At one point during his illness, he requested his Aunt Lorene to bring him some of her delicious barbeque. Larry was a huge fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder and all OU sports. His greatest joy was being around his family and friends. Larry loved attending family reunions and gathering and was always looking forward to the next time they were all getting together.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Ruth Helen (Nero) Jackson of Oklahoma City; three brothers, Christopher Jackson and his wife Ronda, Artie Jackson and Robert Jackson, all of Oklahoma City; two aunts, Esther Winston and husband Ray of Culver City, CA and Lorene Daniels of Oklahoma City; two uncles, Robert Ray Jackson of Oklahoma City and Raymond Jackson of Wichita, Kansas; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Eugene Jackson, Sr; two sisters, Yolanda Gayle Jackson and Sherrian Kaye Jackson-Parker and one brother, Phillip Karl Jackson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 1:00 PM at OK Cremation Funeral Home Chapel in Oklahoma City with Pastor Christopher Nubine officiating.
