Leonard Ray Griffin

Leonard Ray Griffin, longtime Norman resident, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at his residence in Norman at the age of 70.

Leonard was born October 27, 1949 in Prague, Oklahoma to Leonard Kenneth Griffin and Florence Maxine (Robinson). He enlisted in the US Army and served his country during the Vietnam Era. He received several medals including the Purple Heart. Leonard received an honorable discharge on August 24, 1979.

Leonard held several different jobs during his lifetime including a police officer at Meeker Police Dept., security officer and worked in maintenance doing work for Attorney Doug Wall in Norman for several years. Leonard loved to fish, enjoyed going shopping at Walmart and loved his Mountain Dew and cigarettes.

He is survived by two sons, Billy and Reuben; three daughters, Karen, Tammy and Sierra; one aunt, Inez Wilson and a host of other family and friends.

Leonard is preceded in death by his parents; twin stillborn daughters and one sister.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 2:30 P.M. at Goodrich United Methodist Church in Norman with Reverend Desi Sharp officiating. A potluck dinner will immediately follow the services at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of OK Cremation and Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
