Linda Sue (Branstetter) Withey

October 16, 1945 — November 12, 2021

Oklahoma City

Linda Sue Branstetter Withey was born October 16, 1945 to Leo and Dovie Branstetter in the Cameron, Oklahoma area. She passed from this life surrounded by her family on November 12, 2021 at the Heart Hospital in South Oklahoma City, at the age of 76. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Dovie Branstetter and her brothers, Neal and Kenneth Branstetter. She is survived by her loving family consisting of her children, Reg, and daughter in law Geanette, Lisa, Melissa, and Katrina, and son in law Manuel, her grandchildren Krysta and husband Christopher, Christopher Garroutte, Geneva and husband Colin, Marielle and husband Jake, Gabrielle and husband Bryan, Kyla and husband Jason, Braedyn, Jonas, and Nikki. Great grandchildren: Kylan, Caydence, Jasper, and Ezra, her brother Harold Ray and wife Karen,  sister in law Carolyn Kyle and husband John, niece Carrie McCarty and husband Kevin, and nephew Brian Branstetter.

The Branstetter family lived in the country, Hill Town, Oklahoma, before moving to Poteau. There was the day when they first got electricity to their house. Their mother and daddy were at work, Neal in school and Harold Ray and Linda were the only ones home. The worker said they were going to have to dynamite a hole for one of the poles. Harold Ray and Linda ran to the back of the ten acres they were living on and lay down in a ditch protected from the dynamite. They heard a light boom and it was over, but they were prepared for much worse. Since they had electricity Bill and Jurlene (Leo's sister) came down from Tulsa and brought their television. However, they did not bring an antenna and Hill Town is in the country. Bill finally took the iron bed springs off a bed and placed them upon top of the house and made an antenna for the television. Picture was not too good but they had television! They got their own television after they moved to Poteau. Before they moved to Poteau there was a day Linda got her hand and arm in the wringer of the washing machine. Their mother was working in the garden and she ran back to the house to help Linda, but instead of hitting the release button on the wringer, she ran Linda's arm back through the wringer, but, no permanent damage done. After moving to Poteau their mother put Neal in charge while she was at work at the Garment Factory. That meant that Linda got experience cleaning the house, and Harold Ray helped a little. Linda has always been a good worker. After Linda grew up she was still a great worker. After moving to Oklahoma City, Linda got a job with General Motors. A dear friend Bob Kerns worked at General Motors also. He said Linda worked there for 28 years assembling door locks on the trim of automobiles. After their 28 years there she accepted a job at the Postal Training Center. Bob said Linda knew everybody's birthday and would make a delicious pie or cake every time someone had a birthday. They all told her she should open a bakery and her brother, Harold Ray, agreed with them. Bob said Linda had a close knit family and was very helpful with children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He said she was also very close to her brother Harold Ray and his wife Karen, all of this was true. Bob said and we all agree "Linda, start making your pies and cakes in Heaven, so we can enjoy them when we get there. Meanwhile, you are missed here
