Louella Louise (Davis) Wallace

June 18, 1942 ~ August 9, 2020 (age 78)


Louella Louise Wallace was born to Robert Davis and Gladys Collins Davis June 18, 1942 in Yeager, OK. Louella was the oldest of the last six siblings. Her younger years were spent in California until the age of 12. Louella then moved back to Oklahoma and completed the remaining of her teenage years in Wewoka, OK. She started her career in law enforcement and was the first woman to work for the Federal Reserve and carry a firearm. Louella was known for teaching and sharing etiquette to young Black Oklahomans through the Spencer Parade of Beauty. She married Eugene Wallace Jr. July 16, 1979. They shared a union of over 60 years in love. Later she started a career at Maxy’s wash and during the same time, received her certification as an HTS. Louella was affectionately known throughout Spencer, OK as a leader, advisor and was well known for her passion: working in her garden. Louella is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Gladys Davis, her siblings; Ophelia, Lenora, Olaray, Fannie, Della, Tifford, Rufus (Boosie), Curtis, Robert Jr., and Leon. She leaves Truman (Trish) of California, Eloise, Carline and Donald Jr. (Pat) of Arizona to cherish her memory. Louella had four children: Norma Pittman, Virgil Phillips, Harriett Grundy (Michael), Gloria Palmer (Damian) all of Oklahoma. Beautiful bonus children; Marilyn, Donnie, Sabrina, Eugene III, Michael, Stevie, Regina all of Oklahoma. Her beloved grandchildren Antone, Nicholas, Heidi, Alexis, Shanell, Myron, DeMornay and Egypt. 12 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and her lifetime friend Velma will deeply miss her smile, grace, style, and physical presence.
