Marna Ruth Gentry was born on September 22, 1934 in Rosedale, Oklahoma to the wonderful parents of Samuel and Mary Robinson.  Ruth the only daughter in a family of boys having brothers, Thelbert Huntley, Hugh Robinson and younger brother John, whom all have preceded her in death.

Ruth attended Douglas High school in Oklahoma City where her family had moved.  She met Otha in 1951 and were married on July 19,1952.  To this union two sons were born: Scecil Dewayne Gentry (deceased) and Ivan Gentry.

Marna Ruth joined St. Mary’s Christian Methodist Episcopal Church under the pastor-ship of Revered H.J. Shoebaot.  She was an active member, working with the children’s department, church usher Board and missionary society in the local and district conferences.  Marna Ruth was willing to give and work tirelessly for her church, (St. Mary’s).

Ruth worked for years helping to support her family working years outside of the home.  She was employed at Irene Bakery and then more than 30 years for Western Electric / Lucent.  She was part of their quality control systems.  When using your phone of today, know that she played an integral part of what makes them work.

On Tuesday January 11, 2022, God called Marna Ruth Gentry to take her place in his crown; come and rest with him.  She needed to lay her head down and not toil.

Those that Marna Ruth Gentry leaves to cherish her memories are: son Ivan, daughter in law Kathy Gentry, grandsons Christopher (Stacy) Anthony and granddaughter Lynlea, many great-grandsons and great-granddaughters, a host of nieces and nephews, St. Mary’s family, relatives and friends.
