Michael Allen Strickland

May 15, 1958 — February 26, 2020

Michael Allen Strickland passed away February 26, 2020 at Seminole Care and Rehab in Seminole at the age of 61. He was born May 15, 1958 to Pearl Raymond Strickland and Rose Marie Wright. Everyone knew him as Allen. Allen grew up and attended school in Oklahoma City until he was in 6th grade. He then lived in the Pryor area and back to the Oklahoma City area until he moved to Claremore, OK in 1992. For the last five months of his life he lived with his daughter Jenny in Tecumseh so she could care of him. He was a truck driver and a jack of all trades. He could fix anything. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers. His greatest joy was having a large family and his second greatest joy was his love for fishing. He really loved having fish fries for his family and friends. He was an early riser and he enjoyed making phone calls and talking with his family at 3am or 5am or whatever time he was beginning his day. He also enjoyed playing cards at the casino and he really enjoyed it if one of his kids would tag along with him. He is going to be missed very much by his children, grandchildren, siblings and friends.

Allen is survived by his seven children, twelve grandkids, five great-grandkids and five siblings. His surviving children are Crystal and Chad Harriss of Pryor, David and Amanda Strickland of Pryor, Jenny and Chris Young of Tecumseh, Candice Lewis of Tulsa, Jed and Bonnie Branch of Claremore, Michael Strickland of Owasso and Matthew “Bud” Strickland of Claremore. His surviving siblings are JoAnn and James Cornelius of Yukon, Judy and Steve Pelfree of Oklahoma City, Brenda Hawkins of Oklahoma City, Terrie Gunderson of Oklahoma City, Roger Strickland of Edmond.

He was preceded in death by his father Raymond, mother Rose and two brothers Jerry and Billy.
