Ronnie Ray Johnson

Ronnie Ray Johnson, Oklahoma City resident, passed away September 21, 2021 at his residence in Oklahoma City at the age of 74.

Ronnie was born March 10, 1947 in Hobbs, New Mexico but he grew up in the Albuquerque area. As a kid, Ronnie took an interest in Judo and later earned his brown belt.

Ronnie married Ora “Dee” Ritchey on August 14, 1971 in Amarillo, Texas and they raised three kids during their marriage of over 50 years. He attended college and obtained his bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Ronnie enjoyed listening to people and being able to help them if need be. No one was ever a stranger to Ronnie and always wanted to hear their stories and offer them help or advice. He would give his last dollar to anyone who needed it. Ronnie loved reading the Bible and studying God’s word. He taught himself Greek and Hebrew because he wanted to study the Bible in those languages. Even after retirement, Ronnie continued to educate himself and would even audit college classes to learn new things.

Survivors include his wife, Dee; son, Evin Johnson and his wife Angela and children Lauren Johnson and Thomas Johnson; son, David Johnson and his wife Monica and children Adam Johnson and Cohen Johnson; daughter, Lori Altebaumer and her husband Shawn and children Joshua Altebaumer and Noah Altebaumer; three brothers, Kenny Johnson, Bobby Johnson and Gary Johnson and a host of other family and friends.
