Savas Arthur Argyries

May 24, 1951 — June 4, 2020

Oklahoma City

Art Argyries began his journey on May 24, 1951, the son of Arthur and Mary Argyries. Sadly, his journey ended on June 4th, 2020.  They are together again.

Art was a faithful Christian man who loved life, sharing his love with everyone he met.  Playing golf was a top priority on his weekends, and he was a sports fanatic. He was an Ohio University Bobcat and loved Oklahoma’s OU.  Art loved aviation and flying a plane. He never gave up on his Miami Dolphins.

In his early career he was in broadcasting and radio management.  It was at Ohio University that he met and shared his passion of broadcasting with his lifelong best friend, Bob Cooper. Together they shared many stories of their time in radio. Art loved to laugh, encourage, bring others closer to God, and was very genuine in his love and concern for everyone he met along his way.  His smile would light the room.

Art was truly blessed when he found a home at CLEAResult to follow his passion of lighting the world in the best possible way.  He loved his coworkers and loved going to work each day.

Art wrote amazing poetry and had a prayer website for those who were seeking the Lord but felt unworthy.

Art is survived by his wife, Karen.  He is also survived by their blended family including Bret, Victoria, and Isabella Bartelme, Andrew and Cruz Bartelme, Susan, Olivia, Lilly, and Elaina Walker, John Ross, Lauren Byrd and Rileigh Via.  He will sadly be missed by his sisters, Lynne Glaros and Audre Bunis. He was blessed with nieces Christie Bazemore, Julia Giles, Nika Brogan, and Leslie Ohl and his great nephew Cayden Giles. Art’s Greek family has so many cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren that he adored. Art’s friends were family to him and he loved them dearly.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are welcome to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the American Stroke Association.
