Terry Dean Buckner

October 22, 1959 — October 31, 2020

Oklahoma City

On October 22, 1959, Terry Dean Buckner, the second born of five children to Ulysses and Opal Buckner.

Terry came into this world a shy, little boy. He did not say much, but the older he got he became a little too vocal. He loved to imitate James Brown. He would split, twirl, and move those feet to all of James Browns hits, just like some of you did in that era.

He accepted Christ at a very early age. He attended Garden Oaks Elementary, Pleasant Hill, and Mid Del Public Schools. Terry was a very good left-handed basketball player, but all the Buckner boys were good in sports. He was fascinated with cars and a mechanic by trade, which was his passion. He was a very good carpenter and brick layer that served under the apprenticeship of his Uncle Arnell.  He worked many other jobs. Let’s not forget he was a clean freak, Always wiping, dusting, sweeping, my Lord I know this was from the teachings of our mother. He was always willing to help anyone, just ask the Forest Park neighborhood and the Eastside Residents. A hard-working man, he was.

In December 1978, Terry married June Lewis, to this union, two sons were born Terrance and Tedrick Buckner. Terry also had one daughter Raven, his oldest (mother Kathy) and four sons Steven, Brian, Michael, and Quentin (Mother April).  Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Opal and Ulysses Buckner, two brother, Nathaniel and Ulysses, Jr. Buckner.

Terry departed this life on October 31st, 2020 and leaves to cherish his precious memories, his daughter, Raven Good, (North Carolina); sons, Terrance Buckner (Racheal) of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Tedrick Buckner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Grandchildren, Branyale, Rayneek, Jaydan, Aquila, Shamel Jr., Gabriel, Echelle, Kavera, Allan, Alvin, Ali, Joseph, Mickalah, and other grandchildren, and one great grandson which was born on his birthday, October 22, 2020.  He also leaves behind one sister, Rita Mumford (Joe) of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and one brother, Edward Buckner (Elizabeth) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.
