Wayne William Srotyr

Wayne William Srotyr, 76, was born June 18, 1942, in Cicero, Il, & passed away unexpectedly on June 14,2019, at the home he shared with his loving wife, Alta, in OKC, OK. He is survived by one son Wayne WC Srotyr, of Logansport, IN. He had a very special bond with his stepsons Brent & Shawn Kasparek of OKC who loved him & would do anything for him. Grandchildren include: April (Brandon) Oberkrom of Peru, IN, Courtney & Adam Srotyr of Logansport, IN, Tristan Mercer of Savannah, TX, Benjamin Wilkins of Yukon, OK, Gage, Tayla, Dayton Kasparek, & Abigail Evans of OKC. Great grandchildren Kolin & Ethin Oberkrom of Peru, IN. He was more of a dad to his niece Carlene, as well as her husband Kenny Moore of Bethany, OK.  Wayne was loved by many other family members, including Matt Johnson, Caren (Matthew) Peoples, Patsy Gilliam, Judy (JR) Keenan, Larry (Diane) Hall, Bill (Linda) Hall, Theresa (Rob) Baker & his morning Liar’s Club at McD’s. He was preceded in death by his parents William J & Pearl B Novak Srotyr, sister Eileen & stepson Brian Kasparek. He retired after 39 years with WE/AT&T/Lucent. Wayne loved life & loved to make people smile. He always had something funny to say, up to the very end. He enjoyed woodworking, photography, motorcycle trips with buddies all over the US & Canada, traveling with Alta (& often other family members) always enjoying the journey, not just the destination. He was past-president of both the Metro Camera Club & the Lakeview Neighborhood Association. He talked to strangers & they remembered him.  He & Alta shared many wonderful memories in their 20 years together. A celebration of his life is planned for June 27 at 2:00 p.m. in Will Rogers Garden Center, 3400 NW 36 St, OKC, 73112.
