Glendon James Wood, 45, was born on July 4, 1980, in Elk City, Oklahoma, to Glenn and Donna Wood. He grew up in Marlow, Oklahoma, where he spent his formative years surrounded by family and friends.
Glen attended school in Marlow, where he was active in athletics, playing football and competing in cross country. Those who knew him remember his competitive spirit, physical toughness, and willingness to push himself - traits that followed him into adulthood.
He later built a career as a diesel mechanic. He wasn’t afraid of hard work or long days, was good with his hands, understood machines, and wasn’t one to shy away from getting dirty. Glen lived life on his own terms and was known for his love of good times. He could be stubborn, funny, frustrating, loyal, and real - all at the same time. You always knew where you stood with him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Perkins, and his stepfather, David Perkins.
Glendon is survived by his father, Glenn Wood of Elk City; his brothers Robi of Comanche, Trint of OKC, Tyler of Shawnee and Shawn of Duncan; step-siblings David II of Comanche and Brittany of Duncan, and his significant other Tammy and her children all of Elk City. Glendon also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will remember him in their own way.
Glendon’s life was marked by intensity, loyalty, and authenticity. He will be remembered for living boldly and leaving an impression on those who crossed his path.
